Why we exist

Research groups routinely wait weeks for reference compounds that arrive without usable documentation, or arrive degraded after sitting in an uncooled warehouse. We built Basal Bio to close that gap — real cold chain, real third-party assays, and a certificate that names the batch in your hand. The consultation exists because getting that right takes a conversation, not a shopping cart.

How we operate

We source from synthesis facilities that will submit to independent verification, and we publish what the testing lab actually reported rather than a marketing summary. When a batch fails specification, it does not ship. That is the entire policy.

Two operations

We run supply from the United States and from Argentina. The US operation serves North American enquiries and institutional accounts; the Argentina operation dispatches from Buenos Aires across Latin America, where customs paperwork for research-use materials is handled as standard rather than as an exception. Documentation is prepared in Spanish and English, and technical questions are answered by people who can read a chromatogram.

Where we draw the line

We supply laboratories and qualified researchers. We do not provide dosing protocols, we do not make therapeutic claims, and we decline enquiries that appear intended for human consumption. This is not a limitation we work around — it is the basis on which we operate legally and intend to keep operating.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are peptides?

Short chains of amino acids — molecules small enough to be synthesised to an exact sequence and then verified against it. In a laboratory setting they are used as analytical reference materials: the compound is characterised, its purity measured and its identity confirmed before it enters any assay.

Who can you supply?

Qualified researchers, laboratories, universities and institutions purchasing research reagents. We ask you to confirm you are enquiring in that capacity. No prescription is involved because these are not medicines — but for that same reason, we cannot supply anyone whose enquiry indicates personal or human use.

How should the material be handled safely?

As any laboratory reagent: personal protective equipment, a controlled bench, and the procedure set out in the safety data sheet, which we provide for every compound and include with all international shipments. We publish no effects in humans or animals, because these materials are administered to neither.

How is it stored and reconstituted?

The sealed vial is lyophilised powder and is held at -20 °C, protected from light, where it keeps for 24 months. Reconstitution for in-vitro work uses bacteriostatic water; it then moves to 2-8 °C and is used within the window stated on its certificate of analysis. That certificate travels with the batch.

What does my laboratory need in place to receive a shipment?

Freezer capacity at -20 °C and, for international destinations, whoever handles your institution's imports. We prepare the research-use declarations, tariff classification and safety data sheet for the route, and review the customs file with you during the consultation, before anything ships.

When would you decline an enquiry?

Whenever there is any indication that the material may be intended for human consumption, for resale for human consumption, or for any application outside laboratory research. We also decline requests for dosing or administration guidance. This is not a formality we look for ways around — it is the basis on which we are able to supply at all.

How quickly do you respond and dispatch?

The written quote normally comes back within one business day. Once accepted, Argentine destinations are served nationally in 24 to 72 hours from Buenos Aires, and Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico in 3 to 8 business days. North American enquiries ship from the United States operation.

How do I get started?

Send the consultation form describing what your programme needs. Our technical team checks batch availability against your specification, decides which operation should ship, and replies in writing with availability, batch data, lead time, route and price. Nothing ships and nothing is charged until you accept.
